He has also been involved in complex litigation, including serving on the Plaintiffs’ Discovery Committee in the United Airlines DC-10 crash litigation arising from the Sioux City, Iowa air disaster. Mr. Allen has served as a judge pro tempore and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Indiana Supreme Court, the Illinois Supreme Court, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
A Background Rooted in Union Labor
Raised in Gary, Indiana, Mr. Allen is a 30-year member of the Carpenter’s Union and worked as a piledriver and millwright (UBC), Teamster (IBT) and railroad trackman (BMWE) before becoming an attorney. This firsthand experience in the trades and union labor gives him an understanding of the challenges and dangers faced each day on the worksite and in the steel mills.
